The Mazda MX5 Club’s annual Driver Training Day will be held at the Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, Taupo, on 23rd September 2017.
The format for the day will be similar to previous years, with the exception that, if you have been to a Driver Training Day before, you have the option in the morning of:
A detailed programme of the day, and how to get to the BMMP, will be sent to registrants separately.
You must be a current financial member of the club and your car must be registered and have a current Warrant of Fitness. You will be required to sign an indemnity form indemnifying the Mazda MX5 Car Club of NZ against any mishap or injury.
So that everyone gets as many runs as possible at each event, and for safety reasons, we are limiting the total number of drivers to 60. Only drivers who have pre-registered will be permitted on the track. There will be no registration on the day.
As this is an off-road event, even though it is not racing, you may not be covered by your normal vehicle insurance policy in the event of an incident. If this is a concern to you we would recommend that you check with your insurer before registering.
Accommodation and Meals
The Club has reserved accommodation at the Huka Falls Resort, 56 Huka Falls Road, Taupo, for the nights of 22nd and 23rd September. The studio rooms have all been sold, but there are still some one and two bedroom rooms available.
Room rates are:
$195.00 per night for a two bedroom villa. Sleeps a maximum of five.
$125.00 per night for a one bedroom suite. Sleeps a maximum of three.
A buffet breakfast is available at $29.50 per person.

A group dinner has been arranged at the Resort for the evening of the 23rd. The cost of the dinner is $55 per person. Even if you are not staying at the Resort you are welcome to come to the dinner.
